A seven-year-old boy from Birmingham has authored a new anthology titled 'Our Stories, Our World.' This remarkable collection showcases 20 illustrated short stories and poems.
The works are contributed by 20 children aged six to 10, hailing from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds across the UK. Jayce, a recipient of the BBC Blue Peter Gold badge, curated the anthology to celebrate diversity, imagination, and inclusion.
Jayce stated that the book aims to highlight that children from all backgrounds possess valuable stories. He emphasized the importance of representation in literature, noting that seeing oneself in books fosters a love for reading.
The anthology will have a public launch event on April 11 at the Library of Birmingham. This publication follows Jayce's previous literary successes, including his first book 'Jayce's Sweet Tooth' and two other publications, earning him a British Citizen Youth Award.
