Billy Joel, 77, celebrated a significant family milestone as his daughter Della graduated from elementary school. Della, 10, will now transition to middle school.
Billy shared his pride on Instagram, posting pictures of Della and acknowledging the swift passage of time since her first day of school. He expressed confidence in her future accomplishments. Della has already demonstrated a talent for performing, appearing on stage with her father.
She famously sang with Billy at Madison Square Garden in 2018 and again with her younger sister, Remy, on July 25, 2024, during the final show of his residency. These performances showcase her burgeoning passion for music.
The graduation news comes as Billy Joel focuses on his recovery from normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), a brain condition diagnosed last year. This condition has impacted his balance, vision, and hearing, leading him to cancel concert dates through July 2026.
He fell on stage in February after a performance at the Mohegan Sun resort in Connecticut, highlighting the balance issues he is working to overcome through physical therapy. His eldest daughter, Alexa, 40, also recently performed a tribute to him at Carnegie Hall on March 12, 2026.
