Billie Eilish's "Wildflower" Earns Surprise Grammy Nods Despite Previous Album Nominations
9 Nov
Summary
- Billie Eilish's song "Wildflower" nominated for Song and Record of the Year at 2026 Grammys
- "Wildflower" was initially featured on Eilish's 2024 album "Hit Me Hard and Soft"
- Grammy eligibility rules allow tracks from previous albums to compete if they were released as singles

The 2026 Grammy nominations were announced last Friday, and music fans are a bit puzzled by Billie Eilish's nods for her song "Wildflower." The track has been nominated for both Song and Record of the Year, which is surprising since it was initially featured on Eilish's 2024 album "Hit Me Hard and Soft."
That album had already earned Grammy nominations at the 67th annual ceremony in February 2025, including for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album. However, the Recording Academy's rules state that a track or single from a previous year's album can still be eligible for the current year's awards, as long as it was released as a standalone single during the eligibility period.
