Veteran producer Bill Kong is presenting four commercial films at the European Film Market via his Edko Films banner. This strong Hong Kong presence at the 2026 Berlin Film Festival includes the Singapore-Hong Kong-China co-production "Panda," which is set for the Forum section.
Kong's offerings feature two "Cold War" franchise sequels: "Cold War 1994" and "Cold War 1995." Both are directed by Longman Leung. The first film follows M.B. Lee as he investigates a kidnapping, uncovering internal police conflicts. The second sequel explores the political fallout and the impending 1997 handover.
Edko Films is also presenting "Night King," a comedy-drama from director Jack Ng, starring Dayo Wong and Sammi Cheng as a divorced couple fighting to save their nightclub. "Unidentified Murder," a comedy-drama about an influencer couple whose prank goes awry, completes Edko's lineup. This film also involves a 25-year-old child disappearance.
In the Berlinale Forum, "Panda" is featured, a film exploring "Chineseness" through the journey of four marginalized individuals in Nanjing. Directed by Zhang Xinyang, it has garnered several awards during its development.
Another Hong Kong film at EFM is "Pass and Goal" by Entertaining Power Co., a family drama about a financial consultant training a youth soccer team.
