Bhubaneswar will experience significant traffic restrictions during the Durga Puja celebrations from October 16 to October 21. The Commissionerate police have issued an advisory imposing curbs on heavy vehicles and passenger buses.
These restrictions are scheduled daily from 2 PM to 2 AM, aiming to facilitate smooth traffic flow and enhance public safety amidst the expected surge of devotees. Major city routes, including those connecting Rasulgarh, Vani Vihar, Acharya Vihar, and Jayadev Vihar, will prohibit heavy vehicle movement.
Special diversions are arranged for heavy goods vehicles traveling between Khurda and Cuttack, rerouting them via Chandaka and Baranga. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly, as diversions will also be in place for buses coming from Puri and those originating from the Master Canteen bus stand to minimize congestion within the city core.
Further adjustments will affect Lingaraj temple-bound buses during morning hours, diverting them to avoid busy intersections. The advisory emphasizes cooperation with traffic personnel for a hassle-free festive experience.
