A musical tribute to the legendary Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi is set to take place on February 4th, marking his 104th birth anniversary. The Bhimpalas Music Festival, presented by the GB Joshi Memorial Trust, will host a series of commemorative cultural programs.
The event, titled 'Swara Jhankara,' is scheduled to commence at 5 pm at the Alur Venkatarao Bhavan in Dharwad. This celebration of Indian classical music is made possible with the support of the Kshamata Foundation and the Violin Academy of Pune.
Attendees can look forward to a rich lineup of performances. The festival will open with a vocal recital by Vidushi Sania Patankar, followed by a violin performance by Pandit Tejas Upadhye. Renowned Kirana gharana vocalist Pandit Anand Bhate will present the concluding concert. Several accomplished musicians will provide accompaniment. Entry to this cultural event is free of charge.
