Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is preparing to open sections of Bharat Vandana Park in May, featuring the highly anticipated Mini India zone. This 200-acre recreational project is uniquely designed in the shape of a lotus, with each petal dedicated to different themes and activities. The Mini India area will showcase replicas of 37 monuments, providing a journey through India's rich cultural and architectural heritage.
The park also boasts a variety of leisure and wellness zones, including a meditation area, a cultural zone, a family fun park, and lake-view restaurants. Sustainable development is a core focus, with the park incorporating solar power generation, extensive rainwater harvesting, and advanced sewage and water treatment facilities, aiming for GRIHA 3-star compliance.
Initially planned for a 2023 opening, the project faced delays due to facility establishment and airport authority approvals for a skywalk feature. The DDA envisions Bharat Vandana Park as a significant urban asset and a vital green lung for Delhi, enhancing the city's quality of life and promoting ecological resilience. The park will accommodate high visitor numbers with 28 food kiosks, premium dining, and parking for approximately 2,500 vehicles.
