Beyoncé Honors Dolly Parton: 'You Were The Barometer'

Beyoncé has expressed her deep admiration for country music icon Dolly Parton, referring to her as "the barometer" and "the north star." In a touching statement, Beyoncé celebrated Parton's multifaceted impact, from her art and heart to her entrepreneurship, expressing gratitude for their collaboration.

Parton's influence was notably featured on Beyoncé's 2024 album, "Cowboy Carter." The album included a reworked rendition of Parton's classic "Jolene," which Beyoncé transformed into a defiant warning to a rival. Parton herself had given her blessing to the cover, praising Beyoncé's powerful interpretation.

Further highlighting their artistic synergy, Dolly Parton made two guest appearances on "Cowboy Carter." She introduced the track "Tyrant" and delivered a spoken-word interlude titled "Dolly P," which cleverly referenced Beyoncé's earlier work, showcasing their enduring connection and mutual respect.
