Sheryl Lee Ralph recently shared details about the grand floral gifts she received following her 2022 Emmy win for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. The Abbott Elementary star revealed that Beyoncé sent her a "biggest, [most] beautiful arrangement," which Ralph described as second only to those sent by Oprah Winfrey. These exceptionally large bouquets required significant space, with Winfrey's necessitating a truck for transport.

Ralph keeps mementos from both gifts, including cards and petals, in her office as reminders. The connection between Ralph and Beyoncé extends to their shared history in the musical Dreamgirls; Ralph originated the role of Deena Jones on Broadway in 1981, while Beyoncé starred in the 2006 film adaptation. Following her win, Ralph received a note from Beyoncé expressing congratulations and admiration for her performance.

Ralph's 2022 Emmy win was historic, making her the second Black woman to receive the award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series, following Jackée Harry in 1987. Abbott Elementary itself garnered significant recognition, receiving seven nominations at the recent ceremony, including for Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Casting.
