A devastating wildfire has irrevocably altered the lives of Beth and Rip, leading them to seek a new beginning. Their newly acquired ranch in Dillon, Montana, was reduced to ashes by an uncontrollable blaze, destroying their property and dreams.
Facing the loss, Beth and Rip decided on a significant change of scenery. Actor Cole Hauser noted that moving the characters out of their comfort zone was a necessary narrative choice.
They ultimately settled on purchasing the Edwards Ranch in Rio Paloma, Texas, a 5,000-acre property located about an hour from the Mexico border. This new ranch comes with a herd of 175 Black Angus cattle and a legacy of stewardship.
As they establish their new home, Beth and Rip are required to keep ranch hand Azul Ramos and hire Zachariah Moss, a cowboy with a past. Their presence immediately draws the attention of the neighboring Jackson family, owners of the 10 Petal Ranch, who quickly emerge as a significant competitor and adversary.
