Rave the Planet Rolls On After Love Train's Demise
30 Jul
Summary
- Love Train parade cancelled due to security concerns and logistical issues.
- Rave the Planet, a separate techno parade, will proceed as planned.
- Event organizers cited a changed social climate following a fatal attack.
The Love Train techno parade, originally scheduled for August 29 in Berlin, has been cancelled. Organizers cited significant logistical challenges and a perceived shift in the social climate as primary reasons for the decision. This change follows a recent fatal attack in the city's Tiergarten park, which has profoundly impacted the planning and atmosphere for such events.
Despite the Love Train's cancellation, a different techno parade, Rave the Planet, is confirmed to go ahead on August 15. Founder Matthias Roeingh, also known as Dr. Motte, stated that the event has been carefully considered and aligns with community desires. This parade, a successor to the famous Love Parade, is planned to take place in central Berlin.
