Anjana has been selected to perform as part of the 10th-anniversary celebrations of Diwali in NYC, representing India on a global platform alongside other renowned Indian artists.
Anjana's multilingual upbringing has shaped her versatile musical style, allowing her to sing in over 14 languages, including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi, and Bengali. For her 30-minute set, she will collaborate with Rishi Singh, a music reality show winner, on a brand-new original composition. Anjana aims to showcase the rich diversity of Indian music and bring people closer through her multilingual performances.
"Performing at Times Square is something every artist dreams of," says Anjana. "I've been preparing for almost two months, selecting songs, rehearsing daily, and planning every detail of my set. It's been exhausting, but also fulfilling." Anjana's journey has included winning a musical reality show as a junior and later returning as a finalist in the senior edition, where she experimented with new arrangements and soundscapes to showcase her artistic growth.
Anjana's musical inspirations include legendary singer Shreya Ghoshal, who taught her that "music isn't about hitting perfect notes, it's about making your listener feel what you feel." This ethos of emotional connection through music is what Anjana aims to bring to her Times Square performance, representing the rich cultural diversity of India on a global stage.
