The ninth edition of Times NIE Spotlight, Bengaluru's premier inter-school music competition, concluded with remarkable performances from young artists. Hosted in collaboration with the Subramaniam Academy of Performing Arts, the event drew 1,200 participants from 350 schools, showcasing a broad spectrum of musical skills across seven categories. Rigorous preliminary and semi-final rounds led to 51 finalists who competed for top honors.
The high caliber of talent impressed judges, including violin maestro L Subramaniam, leading them to award additional prizes. Notably, a Carnatic music performance on the harmonica was a highlight, with L Subramaniam encouraging innovation. He also advised young musicians on practice techniques, emphasizing accurate note rendition and rhythm through metronome use.
