Young Musicians Dazzle at Bengaluru's Music Fest

The ninth edition of Times NIE Spotlight, Bengaluru's premier inter-school music competition, concluded with remarkable performances from young artists. Hosted in collaboration with the Subramaniam Academy of Performing Arts, the event drew 1,200 participants from 350 schools, showcasing a broad spectrum of musical skills across seven categories. Rigorous preliminary and semi-final rounds led to 51 finalists who competed for top honors.

The high caliber of talent impressed judges, including violin maestro L Subramaniam, leading them to award additional prizes. Notably, a Carnatic music performance on the harmonica was a highlight, with L Subramaniam encouraging innovation. He also advised young musicians on practice techniques, emphasizing accurate note rendition and rhythm through metronome use.

L Subramaniam further inspired students to consider music as a viable career, acknowledging its cultural significance despite potential parental concerns. Rachna Sharma, principal of Sindhi High School, Hebbal, praised the students' confidence and dedication. The competition concluded with applause, celebrating the spirit of music and artistic growth among the young participants.
