Bengaluru's Kumara Krupa Road became a dynamic open-air art gallery on Sunday for the 23rd annual Chitra Santhe. This beloved event showcased a wide spectrum of artistic creations, ranging from affordable sketches starting at Rs 100 to elaborate pieces valued in the lakhs, reflecting diverse price points for art enthusiasts.
The fair featured a remarkable display of talent with 1,530 artists from 22 states and four Union Territories presenting their works. Visitors admired paintings, wood carvings, sand art, and ceramics, with portraits of women and deities being particularly prominent, while live portrait artists also drew crowds.
This year's Chitra Santhe drew an estimated 6 lakh visitors and facilitated art sales totaling approximately Rs 3 crore. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the event, emphasizing the Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath's 60-year legacy in nurturing artists and providing them with crucial platforms for exhibition and sales.
