Summary
- Fatherhood made Cumberbatch's "emotions paper thin"
- Cumberbatch says becoming a dad changed how he acts
- Emotional scene in new film caused crew to leave set due to crying

In a recent interview, acclaimed actor Benedict Cumberbatch has revealed how fatherhood has dramatically changed him, both as a person and as a performer. The 49-year-old Marvel star, who shares three sons with his wife Sophie Hunter, says that becoming a parent has made his "emotions paper thin."
Cumberbatch explains that this newfound emotional sensitivity has directly influenced his acting, allowing him to tap into feelings he couldn't access before. "That's what changes how you act, when you become a father," he says. "It isn't necessarily crossovers between your experience and the character's, it's that you become an unfettered channel to stuff that you weren't before."
The actor's emotional transformation is evident in his latest project, a film adaptation of the novel "Grief Is the Thing with Feathers." During an especially poignant scene where Cumberbatch's character is packing his wife's clothes, the raw emotion was so palpable that some crew members had to leave the set, unable to contain their own tears.
