Netflix Drops Trailer for Affleck's 'Animals'

Ben Affleck's anticipated film "Animals" is set to debut on Netflix and in select theaters on October 9. Affleck not only directs but also stars as a mayoral candidate whose son is kidnapped, triggering a descent into a treacherous world of deception as he and his wife, played by Kerry Washington, race to meet ransom demands.

The trailer for "Animals" evokes a sense of intense urgency, reminiscent of classic thrillers. The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Gillian Anderson, Adriana Paz, Ray Fisher, and Steven Yeun, under the cinematography of Robert Elswit.

This project marks the second collaboration between Affleck's production company, Artists Equity, and Netflix, following "The Rip." The Artists Equity model emphasizes rewarding all individuals involved in the production with bonuses tied to viewership milestones.

Initially, Matt Damon was slated to star and Affleck to co-write and direct. However, Damon's commitment to another project led Affleck to take on the lead acting role as well. Jennifer Garner was also previously considered for a role in the film.
