Beloved 'Young Sheldon' Character Georgie Navigates Life After Father's Passing

In the latest episode of the 'Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage' spinoff, viewers witness the impact of the loss of Georgie Cooper's father, George Sr., who passed away from a heart attack near the end of the original 'Young Sheldon' series. The episode features a scene set in the Cooper family dining room, a set that hasn't been used since the conclusion of 'Young Sheldon' in May 2024.
Actor Montana Jordan, who portrayed Georgie on 'Young Sheldon' and now on the spinoff, discusses the experience of stepping back into that familiar world. "Anything that you see that was on 'Young Sheldon' was rebuilt on a completely different stage -- and how well did they do it? I mean, you watched it! You can't even tell it's different. You feel like it's on the same stage, the same place as it was last time," he told TV Line.
However, one major difference is the absence of actor Lance Barber, who played Georgie's father, George Sr. "Anytime there's not a pile of food on the other end of the table, we know Lance is missing somewhere," Jordan acknowledged.
The episode also reunited Jordan with former co-stars Raegan Revord and Zoe Perry, who have reprised their roles as Georgie's sister, Missy, and mother, Mary, respectively. "Anytime that we get to have any of the Cooper family back on set, it's always a blast," Jordan said.
