In a bittersweet turn of events, the community where Tina Turner grew up has unveiled a statue in her honor, celebrating the musical icon's legacy. However, the news is overshadowed by the tragic passing of beloved singer-songwriter Todd Snider, who died at the age of 59 on November 11, 2025.
Snider, known for his thoughtful, cosmic-stoner songwriting that made him a beloved figure in American roots music, had been diagnosed with pneumonia at a hospital in Hendersonville, Tennessee, just days prior. His condition had since grown more complicated, leading to his transfer to another facility. Sadly, Snider succumbed to his illness on November 10th.
The scrapped tour in support of Snider's most recent album, "High, Lonesome and Then Some," was initially attributed to a violent assault he had suffered in the Salt Lake City area. However, police later arrested Snider himself when he refused to leave a hospital and later returned to threaten staffers. This incident, coupled with his pneumonia diagnosis, ultimately led to Snider's untimely demise, leaving the music community in mourning.
