Baywatch Reboot: Real Lifeguards Train Stars!

Production for the highly anticipated Baywatch reboot is well underway, with filming commencing earlier this year for a 2027 premiere on Fox. The new series features lead actor Stephen Amell as Captain Hobie Buchannon, who has undergone significant physical preparation. His training regimen has been intense, further supported by the presence of real lifeguards on set who provided feedback to the cast.

Franchise veteran Carmen Electra, who starred in the original series, has offered words of encouragement and advice to the new cast members. She stressed the importance of maintaining good physical condition and being consistently ready for the show's demands. Electra recalled her own experience, noting that actual lifeguards sometimes directed episodes and offered direct critiques, underscoring the commitment required.

The inclusion of on-set experts, like real lifeguards, mirrors practices in other procedural dramas to enhance realism. Original cast members such as David Chokachi and Kelly Packard are also involved, expected to impart wisdom to the newcomers. Fans can anticipate a series that compares to the original, with support from past stars.

The original Baywatch series is currently available to stream for free on Tubi.
