Partition Drama 'Batwara 1947' Hits Theaters August 14

The second teaser for Sunny Deol's partition drama, 'Batwara 1947,' is scheduled for release on July 15. This film, backed by Aamir Khan, focuses on the aftermath of the 1947 India-Pakistan Partition.

'Batwara 1947' stars Sunny Deol and his son Karan, alongside Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, and Ali Fazal. The film is set for a theatrical release on August 14, just before Independence Day.

This historical drama is based on Professor Asghar Wajahat's acclaimed 1989 play, 'Jis Lahore Nai Vekhya, O Jamya E Nai.' The story centers on an elderly Hindu woman who chooses to remain in her Lahore home after the subcontinent's division.

The film notably reunites National Award-winning director Rajkumar Santoshi with Sunny Deol. Their previous collaborations include successful films like 'Ghayal,' 'Damini,' and 'Ghatak.'

Co-produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit, 'Batwara 1947' revisits the critical period of the Partition, highlighting its emotional and human impact.
