Barry Manilow Postpones Tour After Lung Cancer Surgery
21 Feb
Summary
- Barry Manilow postponed nearly three weeks of tour dates.
- His recovery from lung cancer surgery is taking longer than expected.
- Doctor advised his body needs more time to heal after surgery.

Barry Manilow recently announced the postponement of a significant portion of his arena tour, originally set to resume on February 12 and continue through March 17. This decision stems from a longer-than-anticipated recovery period following surgery to remove a cancerous spot from his lung.
In a heartfelt message to fans, Manilow shared his surgeon's advice that his body, which has been through considerable stress, requires more time to heal. Despite his eagerness to return to the stage, he recognized the medical necessity of postponing these dates.
The singer had previously informed fans in December about the discovery of the cancerous spot, found during an MRI while recovering from bronchitis. At that time, he indicated that the surgery would not require chemotherapy and would have a relatively short recovery process.
Manilow expects to be able to resume his tour by late March or early April, with initial shows potentially in Las Vegas. He expressed deep apologies for the rescheduling but promised a strong return for his fans.
