Bardem and Ruffalo Join Palestinian Drama as Executive Producers

In September 2025, it was announced that acclaimed actors Javier Bardem and Mark Ruffalo have joined the Palestinian drama 'All That's Left Of You' as executive producers. The film is the Jordanian Oscar entry for the year.

Megan Colligan, the newly appointed president of indie distributor Row K Entertainment, recently shared her optimistic outlook on the future of the film industry. Speaking at the Zurich Summit, Colligan noted that the rise of digital content consumption and the growing "experiential economy" have created new opportunities for independent filmmakers and distributors.

Colligan emphasized the importance of creating an "event" around a film's release, regardless of its budget size. She also discussed the impact of major festival selections and awards season success, stating that while these can significantly boost a movie's box office performance, distributors must carefully weigh the costs of awards campaigns.

The panel also touched on the challenges of distributing films on sensitive political topics, with some U.S. distributors reportedly shying away from certain projects. However, Colligan and Sony Pictures Classics' Michael Barker argued that they focus on a film's commercial viability rather than its subject matter when making acquisition decisions.
