The Banff Centre Mountain Film Festival is set to inspire outdoor enthusiasts next week, arriving at the Fox Theater for a three-day showcase of extreme adventures. Since its humble beginnings in a Spokane classroom decades ago, the festival has grown exponentially, now touring hundreds of cities worldwide. Technological advancements have transformed filmmaking, with drones and smaller cameras enhancing the visual storytelling of daring exploits, from skateboarding to mountaineering.
The festival will present six unique films each night. Highlights include tales of ski mountaineering on Mount Robson, adaptive mountain biking, skiing in Japan, a father-son biking tour, and the challenging Barkley Marathons. Shows begin Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 7 p.m. (with a VIP event), and Sunday at 3 p.m.
