Ballerina Sequel Announced: Leap Into New Adventures!

Paris-based production company Good Hero has announced a sequel to its 2016 animated hit "Ballerina." The original film, which told the story of a 19th-century orphan pursuing ballet dreams in Paris, was a global success, grossing over $120 million worldwide and distributed in more than 100 countries.

Production on "Ballerina 2" is scheduled to commence this month, with Laurent Zeitoun, the original screenwriter, directing. The sequel is slated for a global release in late 2029, with Gaumont returning as the distributor. Alongside the film sequel, Good Hero is also developing an animated "Ballerina" television series.

This expansion of the "Ballerina" franchise was revealed at the Annecy animated film festival. The franchise aims to encompass film, television, and digital platforms, broadening its reach beyond the original feature's success.
