The festival program includes competitive categories for narrative features, documentaries, and short films across animation, narrative, and documentary formats. Notably, Balinale is introducing a new competition specifically for Indonesian short films, titled Best Indonesian Short Tapestry of Indonesia, to honor local short-form storytelling.
Notable selections include Julian Rosefeldt's "Euphoria" opening the festival and Joshua Oppenheimer's "The End" closing the event.
