The Bali Botanical Garden in Bedugul hosted an impressive 20,000 visitors during the recent Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 holiday season. This marks a substantial 77% increase compared to the 12,000 visitors recorded in the previous year, with daily visitor numbers frequently ranging from 3,000 to 5,000. The peak day was January 1, 2026, drawing 10,000 visitors.
This surge in popularity is credited to a diverse array of holiday programs and public events organized by the garden. These included a vibrant year-end bazaar from December 31 to January 4, which showcased products from local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) alongside artistic performances and workshops.
Established in 1959 and spanning 157.5 hectares, the garden is a key conservation zone and research center for tropical plants, particularly gymnosperms. It also serves as a beloved recreational destination, offering visitors panoramic views and the refreshing mountain air of Candikuning Village at an affordable entry fee.
