29 Aug
Summary
- Guitarist AJ Rebollo exited Bad Wolves after two years.
- Rebollo cited alleged "ill intent" from the record label.
- The band's 'Jolene' cover was released post-Dolly Parton's death.

Bad Wolves guitarist AJ Rebollo has departed the heavy metal group after a two-year tenure. His resignation is linked to the recent release of the band's cover of Dolly Parton's "Jolene." Rebollo expressed his belief that the record label, Better Noise Music, acted with "ill intent" by releasing the song shortly after Parton's passing.
The original plan for Bad Wolves' cover involved Dolly Parton contributing vocals, a collaboration that became impossible due to her death. The band members reportedly wished to abandon the project following this development. However, the record label proceeded with the release despite the band's objections.
Although Better Noise Music is donating a portion of the proceeds from the "Jolene" cover to Dolly's Imagination Library, Rebollo finds the timing of the release problematic. He stated that while he enjoyed his time with the band, this decision was necessary for him, calling it the "final nail in the coffin."
