Bachelorette Season 22 Pulled Amidst Controversy
22 Mar
Summary
- Season 22 of The Bachelorette was canceled by Disney.
- Star Taylor Frankie Paul's altercation video led to the decision.
- Suits from cast and star could be filed against ABC and Warner Bros.

Season 22 of The Bachelorette, already filmed, has been removed from ABC's 2026 television lineup by parent company Disney. This drastic measure was taken after a video surfaced showing the season's star, Taylor Frankie Paul, involved in a physical dispute with on-and-off boyfriend Dakota Mortensen. The final decision to shelve the season reportedly rested with Debra OConnell, the new Chairman of Disney Entertainment Television, during her inaugural week on the job.
Further complicating matters, Warner Horizon Unscripted Television, producers of the show, were contacted by Disney executives. Disney has not confirmed if this season will ever air, and concurrently, they are assessing the status of "The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives," a Hulu reality show co-starring Paul, on which filming has also been paused due to an investigation into alleged domestic violence involving Paul and Mortensen.
The cancellation has paved the way for potential legal action. Five male contestants from the season are reportedly considering lawsuits against ABC and Warner Bros. Discovery, alleging they were placed in an unsafe work environment due to Paul's alleged history. Additionally, reports suggest Taylor Frankie Paul herself may be planning to sue ABC/Disney.
