The spy comedy starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, initially announced in April 2024, has resumed production after a reported halt. Filming restarted and has progressed significantly over the past two months, with the lead actors recently completing an extensive schedule in Mumbai. This schedule included the filming of a large-scale song sequence.
The song, reportedly titled 'Jai Hind,' is set during an Independence Day celebration in Delhi and features more than 700 dancers and junior artists. Producers Karan Johar and Guneet Monga believed the colorful, patriotic number would enhance the spy comedy's appeal, placing it at a critical point in the narrative. The actors filmed this sequence over two days.
The production team still needs to film an end-credit song to finalize the project. Director Aakash Kaushik is at the helm of this film, backed by Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment. The makers are targeting a mid-2026 release, with an official announcement anticipated in the coming months as production moves forward.
