The Avalanches, an acclaimed electronic music group, have announced a six-concert tour across Australia for February and March 2027. The tour is presented by Takumi and will kick off with two dates at Perth Festival. The group will then perform in Adelaide, Melbourne, and Brisbane before concluding at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt.
Joining The Avalanches for their east coast performances in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Sydney will be HAAi, an electronic artist originally from Australia now based in London. The band's new album, 'No Bad Memories,' is scheduled for release on October 16, featuring previously released tracks like "Together" and "Every Single Weekend."
The group's groundbreaking debut album, 'Since I Left You' (2000), became an instant classic by ingeniously weaving together samples from hundreds of songs. Their subsequent album, 'Wildflower,' released 16 years later, topped the ARIA Albums Chart. The third album, 'We Will Always Love You,' won the Australian Music Prize.
The creative process for 'No Bad Memories' involved "rhythmic experiments using the sonic leftovers and hallmarks of the technologies we grew up with," incorporating sounds from hard drives and obsolete technology. Tickets for the 2027 tour go on general sale October 6.
