Australian Actor Lands Lead Role in Highly Anticipated Viking Drama

In a major casting announcement, Australian actor Xavier Molyneux has been tapped to play the lead role of Erik Bloodaxe in the forthcoming Viking drama Bloodaxe, set to premiere on Prime Video. The series, created by Michael Hirst, the mastermind behind the hit show Vikings, and his son Horatio Hirst, will chronicle the rise of one of history's most renowned Viking warriors and his formidable wife, Gunnhild (played by Jessica Madsen).
As production on the series is currently underway in Ireland, Molyneux's portrayal of Bloodaxe will be at the heart of the story, which follows the couple's fierce battle for the throne of Norway. The land is torn apart by rival factions, shifting loyalties, and bloody betrayals as Bloodaxe and Gunnhild fight for power.
Prior to landing this high-profile role, Molyneux's acting credits include playing Young Michael in the Netflix coming-of-age drama Take My Hand and starring as Byron Stone in the Australian television series Neighbours. The actor continues to be represented by Benchmark Creative Management in Australia and The Rosenzweig Group.
