Audiochuck, the prominent podcast company founded by Ashley Flowers, is making a significant expansion into television and film production. This strategic move sees the launch of a new division dedicated to screen content, spearheaded by the newly appointed Head of Television and Film, Matt Shanfield.
Shanfield brings extensive experience from his previous role as EVP, Development at The Intellectual Property Corporation, a Sony Pictures Television company known for its work on various successful series. In his new capacity, he is tasked with identifying and developing intellectual property, with a particular focus on adapting Audiochuck's existing podcast franchises for international streaming services.
This expansion follows a period of substantial growth for Audiochuck, which recently secured a significant deal with Tubi and received a $40 million investment from The Chernin Group last year. CEO Matt Starker highlighted that television and film represent the natural next step for the company's strong franchise engine, emphasizing a commitment to high-quality storytelling across mediums. Shanfield echoed this sentiment, stressing the opportunity to build a sustainable screen content division by harnessing Audiochuck's loyal audience and rich IP.
