Plaza and Abbott first collaborated on the 2019 indie film Black Bear and later on the Off-Broadway revival of Danny And The Deep Blue Sea, which concluded in January 2024. Their relationship has been kept largely private, with their last public appearance being at a New York Fashion Week show on February 14, 2026.
This happy news follows a difficult period for Plaza, as her estranged husband, Jeff Baena, died by suicide on January 3, 2025. It was later revealed that the couple had separated four months prior to his death.
