Keeley Hawes returns as the formidable assassin Julie in the highly anticipated second season of Prime Video's crime drama, The Assassin. The newly released trailer teases a high-stakes installment, showing Julie reluctantly reuniting with her son, Edward, after his wife, Kayla, is kidnapped on their honeymoon.
Season one concluded with Edward discovering Julie was not his biological mother and his father being a French arms dealer. Season two's synopsis indicates a "disastrous trip to Berlin" left them estranged, with no one willing to discuss the fallout.
The ensuing kidnapping forces Julie and Edward to join forces again, plunging them into the world of international crime. The synopsis hints that to survive and repair their relationship, they must take down Spain's corrupt underworld, potentially facing conflict between themselves first.
Reprising their roles are Keeley Hawes, Freddie Highmore, Shalom Brune-Franklin, and Devon Terrell. New cast members include Arnaud Binard, Natalia Tena, Boris Van Severen, Jacqueline Boatswain, and Monic Hendrickx, among others. The show is set to return on 6 November.
