In a reflective note, Park, 34, previously shared her inspiring journey overcoming life-threatening illnesses, including leukemia and sepsis. Diagnosed with blood cancer as a teenager, she delayed treatment believing her symptoms were growing pains. After her diagnosis, she underwent an eight-month hospital stay and treatment, during which she lost her hair. A wish granted by the Make a Wish Foundation to see a Broadway show in New York ultimately inspired her to pursue a career in musical theatre, demonstrating her determination to not let her past define her future.
