Veteran actress Asha Parekh, a celebrated star of Hindi cinema, recently appeared on the reality show Indian Idol. During her appearance, she reminisced about a challenging song from her filmography, 'Suno Sajna,' featured in 'Aaye Din Bahar Ke.'
Parekh shared that legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar had confessed in an interview that 'Suno Sajna' was her most difficult song. Mangeshkar noted the challenge lay in the song's long vocal runs and high pitch, which also presented difficulties for Parekh during lip-syncing.
The actress further recalled another technically demanding song, Asha Bhosle's 'Daiya Re Daiya Main Kahan Phasi' from the film Caravan. Parekh expressed her fortune in having had the opportunity to perform these iconic and vocally challenging songs by both Mangeshkar and Bhosle.
Asha Parekh was honored with the Padma Shri in 1992 and received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2020.
