Asha Bhosle: A God-like presence for Mahesh Kale

Classical vocalist Mahesh Kale described the legendary Asha Bhosle as a figure he placed on an almost god-like pedestal. He acknowledged that accepting her passing, after a glorious 92-year life, is challenging. Kale emphasized that his connection with Bhosle was deeply personal and familial, as she was his Guru's sister. He recalled witnessing her tie a Rakhi to his Guru in the 1990s and later interacting with her on a reality show.

Kale found the human being behind the musical legend to be incredibly endearing, possessing a rare quality of putting others at ease. He remembered her infectious enthusiasm and love for cooking, once inviting him to her Dubai restaurant. A poignant, unfulfilled wish remains: Bhosle had offered to cook for him if he visited her home, after which he would sing for her, a moment that sadly never came to pass.
