Art Central 2026 commenced its eleventh edition on March 25th, 2026, at Hong Kong's Central Harbourfront. This year's fair is the largest yet, boasting 117 galleries and over 500 artists from more than 50 countries and regions, representing a significant gathering in Hong Kong Art Month.
The event highlights a robust representation of Asian artists, with 30% from Hong Kong and 85% from the Asia-Pacific region. A key feature, 'Central Stage,' debuts this year, spotlighting six internationally recognized artists including Arahmaiani, Marta Frėjutė, Elnaz Javani, Esther Mahlangu, Arno Rafael Minkkinen, and the collective SIDE CORE.
Creative programming, curated by Zoie Yung, delves into digital culture's impact on contemporary art. This includes a commissioned installation by Kaitlyn Hau, daily performances, a video art program titled 'Reading the Room,' and a series of insightful talks featuring artists, curators, and industry leaders.
Partnerships enrich the fair, with UOB presenting a cross-disciplinary encounter with contemporary ink practices by Ling Pui Sze. Sands Gallery makes its debut, showcasing Macao artists, while MTN Seni Budaya presents 'Rising Currents,' featuring eight Indonesian galleries. Chance AI joins as the Innovation Partner.
