Theodore Schaefer's "The Arrow at Rest at Every Instant of its Flight" is making its European premiere at the Sitges Film Festival this week. The film previously debuted at the Edinburgh International Film Festival in August 2026 and was also screened at Baltimore's New/Next Film Festival.
Drawing inspiration from the energetic and experimental style of 1960s New Wave cinema, the 81-minute feature blends comedy, crime, romance, and existential drama. Its narrative unfolds as a satirical triptych focusing on three young women who share an identical appearance. One character attempts a robbery, another becomes entangled in a complex love triangle, and the third is driven to save a stranger whose suicide note she discovered.
The film boasts a cast including Gus Birney, Jack Haven, Roberta Colindrez, Daniel Zolghadri, and John Early, with filmmaker Jane Schoenbrun serving as executive producer. Low Light Films has boarded international sales, with founder Jainer Morales Mena praising the film's unique voice and emotional core.
