According to reports from October 17, 2025, former Sunrise host Samantha Armytage has denied rumors that she will be replacing Sarah Abo on the Today show. Armytage, who is set to host the inaugural season of Golden Bachelor Australia later this year, appeared on 2GB radio and addressed the speculation.
Armytage revealed that she had recently bumped into Abo at the Nine Upfronts event and comforted her amid the headlines. "Sarah's wonderful... We gave each other a hug and I said, 'Are you okay?'" Armytage stated, adding that Abo and co-host Karl Stefanovic are "fantastic."
The 49-year-old TV personality made it clear that her focus is on the new dating show, not a return to breakfast television. "You know how it goes. People talk. But I am very happy in prime time. Golden Bachelor is where it's at for me so I'm quite content with my little lot in life," Armytage asserted.
The reports of Armytage potentially replacing Abo on Today had caused a stir at the Nine network, with some staff members reportedly "terrified" at the prospect of working with the former Sunrise star. However, Armytage's comments suggest that she has no plans to join the Today show lineup anytime soon.
