- It explores how a resistance would form in an occupied Great Britain.

Filming is underway for the new thriller series, Army of Shadows, with production taking place in Manchester, Liverpool, London, and Paris. This series draws inspiration from Jean-Pierre Melville's 1969 film and Joseph Kessel's book, which chronicled the French Resistance against the Nazi occupation during World War II.
Army of Shadows reimagines the concept of resistance within the context of an occupied Great Britain. The plot follows a former soldier known as Berry as he builds a secret resistance network. He gathers an unlikely group of individuals, including a soldier, a student, a radiographer, and a journalist, all compelled to act against a controlling state.
The drama features a prominent cast, including America Ferrera, Paddy Considine, Kit Harington, and Alex Hassell. BAFTA-winning Ronan Bennett is the screenwriter for the series, with Lisa Gunning directing. Canal+ has commissioned the series for its global network, and StudioCanal will manage international sales and distribution.
