Armie Hammer is set to star in Uwe Boll's upcoming action thriller, "Citizen Vigilante." Quiver has acquired the North American distribution rights for the film, with plans for a theatrical and on-demand release this summer.
Directed by Boll, the movie features Hammer as Sanders, a character who dispenses his own brand of justice and becomes a public hero. However, his actions draw the attention of Interpol chief Henry, played by Costas Mandylor, who views the vigilante as a dangerous threat.
The film's production reunited many of Boll's regular collaborators, including DP Mathias Neumann and editor Ethan Maniques. "Citizen Vigilante" was shot in Zagreb, Croatia. Quiver executives described the film as a "Death Wish" for the modern era, offering an uncompromising thriller experience.
Meanwhile, Boll and producer Michael Roesch have completed post-production on two sequels to their 2024 Paramount+ hit, "First Shift." They are also developing "23 Years Later: Return to Zombie Island," a follow-up to their 2003 film "House of the Dead."
