Moviegoers in Arizona are set to experience films in an entirely new dimension starting this August. Harkins Theatres is unveiling the state's first 4D immersive cinema, with the initial location opening at Harkins Norterra in north Phoenix. Two additional Arizona theaters will also feature this groundbreaking technology, though their specific locations are yet to be revealed.
This enhanced cinematic adventure, developed in partnership with Lumma 4D E-Motion, will immerse audiences with a range of sensory effects. These include motion-activated seating that syncs with on-screen action, along with meticulously coordinated scents, bursts of air and water, and other environmental cues designed to bring the movie to life. Popular films such as Insidious 6, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, and Avengers: Doomsday are slated for release in this new format.
