Chitrangada on Arijit Singh's Directorial Debut 'Sa'

Actress Chitrangada Satarupa has offered a rare glimpse into 'Sa,' a film directed by celebrated singer Arijit Singh nearly a decade ago. Satarupa, who stars in the movie, revealed that the film was intended as a tribute to Indian classical music and was shot in Bangla in a village setting near Singh's hometown, resulting in beautiful visuals.

She described Arijit Singh as an absolute perfectionist and a deeply passionate individual, explaining that his meticulous approach to filmmaking, including his time spent with the cinematographer and exploring camerawork, contributes to the project's extended timeline. Satarupa highlighted that Singh's focus is on artistic integrity rather than release deadlines.

Satarupa also spoke about Singh's grounded nature, noting his humility despite his global fame and the emotional impact his music has on millions. Regarding Singh's announced retirement from playback singing earlier this year, Satarupa expressed her belief that he will continue to contribute to music in other capacities, perhaps through original compositions or musical cinema.

The film 'Sa' was originally slated to be Satarupa's debut, and she mentioned that reshoots occurred and that they were informed of a potential release about a year ago. She believes Singh's dedication to his craft will lead to future surprises for his audience.
