Summary

- He co-wrote the upcoming Gujarati film 'Over and Out'
- Kamdar was inspired by the writers he has worked with as an actor

In November 2025, Raunaq Kamdar, an architect by profession, has made an unexpected foray into the world of filmmaking as a writer. Kamdar, who has previously acted in the Gujarati film Kasoombo, shares that he used to write plays during his college days and for an online channel a few years ago, but writing a feature film was an unplanned venture.
The opportunity to co-write the upcoming Gujarati film 'Over and Out' came about when the film's producer, based in Mumbai, wanted to venture into Gujarati cinema and reached out to Kamdar and Abhinav Vaidya, who has done notable work in the Gujarati film industry. As Kamdar discussed the story concept with Vaidya, he became increasingly involved in the writing process.
Kamdar attributes his writing skills to the inspiration he has drawn from the talented writers he has worked with as an actor. He cites his experience collaborating with Aatish Kapadia, the writer of the Gujarati film 'Happy Family: Conditions Apply', as particularly inspiring. Kamdar believes that his background as an actor has helped him balance the development of the story and the characters while co-writing 'Over and Out'.
As Kamdar embarks on this new creative venture, he remains focused on his primary passion of acting, but is open to the possibility of exploring other roles in filmmaking, such as production and even directing, if the right opportunity presents itself.
