- Director AR Murugadoss faces demand for compensation or project rights.

The action entertainer 'Madharaasi,' directed by AR Murugadoss and starring Sivakarthikeyan, achieved Rs 120 crore in box office collections. Despite high-energy action sequences and stylish visuals, the film received mixed reviews from critics and audiences.
Following the release, production house Sri Lakshmi Prasad lodged a complaint with the Producers Council against Murugadoss. The complaint alleges the director significantly overspent the initial Rs 110 crore budget, with final production costs escalating to approximately Rs 170 crore.
As a result, the producer is reportedly demanding Rs 10 crore from Murugadoss or seeking ownership of the 'Ramana 2' project. Negotiations are reportedly ongoing between the parties to amicably resolve this financial dispute within the Tamil film circuit.
