26 Nov
Summary
- Apple TV series 'The Hunt' premiere postponed due to plagiarism allegations.
- The series plot reportedly resembles a 1973 novel and its French adaptation.
- A thorough internal review is underway to address intellectual property concerns.

Apple TV has halted the release of its upcoming French thriller, "The Hunt," a mere week before its planned premiere. This unexpected pause is attributed to a serious plagiarism allegation that surfaced recently.
The French production company Gaumont has confirmed that the series is currently undergoing a comprehensive internal review. This investigation aims to thoroughly examine the claims that the show's plot bears a strong resemblance to Douglas Fairbairn's 1973 novel, "Shoot."
The original novel was later translated into French as "La Traque," which shares its title with the series. The literary work was also adapted into a film in 1976. The writer-director of "The Hunt" reportedly did not disclose this potential connection to Apple TV.
