Apple Original Films has announced an animated feature adaptation of the beloved children's book "Little Santa." This exciting project will be helmed by Peter Baynton, who recently earned an Academy Award for his work on Apple's animated short "The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse."
The film promises original music from the talented Bret McKenzie, renowned for his work on "Flight of the Conchords." The screenplay will be crafted by Martin Hynes, a co-writer of the Academy Award-winning "Toy Story 4." Julia Pistor will produce, with animation by WildBrain.
The story delves into the origins of Santa Claus, following a young Santa on an adventure through the North Pole. Here, he encounters unique characters who help him bring Christmas to life. This initiative underscores Apple's growing commitment to animation.
Apple's animation slate also includes "Snoopy Unleashed." While the company has seen theatrical success with films like "F1: The Movie," its future theatrical releases are diverse, featuring comedies like "The Dink" and action films like "Mayday."
