Apple TV+ has acquired the Israeli thriller series "Unconditional," a year after its launch at the London Screenings. This acquisition marks another Israeli production to join the streamer's catalog, which includes the Hugh Laurie-led drama "Tehran."
The series, co-created by Adam Bizanski and Dana Idisis, is based on a true story. It centers on Gali, a 23-year-old who is arrested for drug smuggling in Moscow while on vacation with her mother, Orna. Orna refuses to accept the charges and embarks on a dangerous quest for Gali's freedom, uncovering a deadly web of crime and corruption.
"Unconditional" filmed in India, Georgia, and Israel. Keshet International, the series' distributor, described it as their "most ambitious drama in terms of budget and scale." The ensemble cast features French-Israeli singer-songwriter Amir Haddad.
The series is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on Friday, May 8, with new episodes released weekly until June 19. It will debut in Israel on Keshet 12 in April. The production was led by Spiro Films' Eitan Mansuri and Jonathan Doweck, with multiple executive producers from Keshet.
